Arrival in Miami

We arrived at Miami International Airport at 9 pm and finally got to the hotel at 10:30 pm. Susanne was in search of peanut butter to bring with us so we walked the streets around the hotel (much to my Mother's concern) seeking an open store with peanut butter.
Med crema cacahuate
Luckily Nick is fluent in Spanish as all of the store workers were non english-speaking. However we quickly learned that "crema de cacahuate" is not stocked at your basic Chevron 24-hour Snack Shop.

Returned to room somewhat defeated and contemplated getting a few hours of sleep. Needed to back at MIA by 3:30 am. Nick hit the bed and was out within a few minutes. Susanne on the other hand, started started doing her "bouncing thing" and the bed we shared was shaking.

For those who do not know Susanne, at staff meetings she sits on a gym ball and bounces up and down. Somewhat distracting when you are trying to discuss serious matters, but even more distracting when trying to find the sleep angel to bring some shut eye to an insomniac! She later shared her "sleep machine" app with me and we "auditioned" different sleep sounds to lull us alseep. All was going well until I asked if there was an option for the Haitian night sounds of roosters fighting with stray dogs. With that we burst out laughing and then being somewhat delirious, couldn't stop laughing and then we were back to the bed shaking thing and well, what can I say, neither of us got one minute of sleep.

Alarm off at 2:30 am, last warm showers and then back to MIA. Project Medishare holds around 20 seats on every Saturday morning 7 am flight to Haiti. We met up with our group and boarded our plane.
